Pakistan Railways offers several travel classes to suit every budget. Understanding the difference can save you money or make a long journey significantly more comfortable.

Economy Class (AC and non-AC)

Economy Class is the most affordable option, with reserved seating. Non-AC Economy is the cheapest on the network and is available on most express trains. AC Economy adds air conditioning and is considerably cooler in summer โ€” worth the small premium on long journeys from April to September.

Business Class

Business Class offers wider, more comfortable seats, better air conditioning, and a quieter coach. It is roughly twice the price of AC Economy but still very affordable by international standards. Recommended for overnight or day journeys over 6 hours.

Sleeper Class (AC Lower and AC Upper)

Sleeper coaches are divided into 4-berth and 6-berth cabins. AC Lower berths are at seat level and easier to access; AC Upper berths are higher but feel more private. Bedding is included. Sleeper Class is the best choice for overnight journeys of 12+ hours.

Parlor Car

Available on select premium trains, the Parlor Car offers aircraft-style wide recliner seats, individual reading lights, and priority boarding. Capacity is limited so book early.
