Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

PakTrainLive is designed so that you never need to create an account. The data we collect is limited to what is necessary to operate the service:

• Server logs: Standard anonymous logs including page requests, error events, and performance metrics. No personal identifiers are recorded.
• Location (opt-in only): If you use the "Find My Train" feature, your browser requests your GPS coordinates. This is processed locally on your device to identify the nearest train. Your location is never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere.
• Push notification token: If you subscribe to train alerts, your browser generates a push subscription endpoint that we store in order to deliver notifications to your device. This token identifies your browser, not you personally. You can delete it at any time by revoking notification permission in your browser.
• Browser storage: We use localStorage to remember preferences such as saved routes and your theme setting. No cross-site tracking cookies are set.

2. How We Use This Information

We use what we collect solely to:

• Deliver live train tracking data and map features
• Send push notifications you have explicitly opted into
• Monitor site performance and diagnose errors
• Display contextually relevant advertising via Google AdSense

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are integrated into PakTrainLive. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

• Google AdSense: Serves display advertisements. Google may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing history. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenStreetMap: Provides the map tiles displayed on the live tracker. Subject to the OSMF Privacy Policy.
• Pakistan Railways GPS feed: Train position data is fetched from Pakistan Railways' tracking infrastructure. This data reflects train locations only — no passenger information is included.

4. Data Retention

Server logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically. Push notification tokens are stored until you unsubscribe or revoke browser permission. localStorage data persists on your device until you clear your browser storage. We hold no other personal data.

5. Advertising

PakTrainLive uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. This is how we cover operating costs without charging users. Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads relevant to your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or via AboutAds.info.

6. Children

PakTrainLive does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, contact us at privacy@paktrainlive.com and we will remove it promptly.

7. Your Controls

You can at any time:

• Clear localStorage from your browser settings to remove all saved preferences
• Revoke push notification permission from your browser settings page
• Opt out of Google personalised advertising via the links above
• Contact us to request deletion of any server-side data tied to a specific request

8. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continuing to use PakTrainLive after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
